- The Donkey Puncher in a Burgundy chromexcel? Obviously we were going to do this iteration! Some could even call this a 'colour 8' CXL. Now, time to throw in a little history and EDUCATION. Do we know where the name Donkey Puncher came from? Yes we do. These boots were named for men and women who operated 'steam donkeys' a steam-driven winch used in logging at the end of the 19th century. The operators were of course known as 'donkey punchers' hence the name. And now you know...queue star coming across the TV screen aka 'the more you know'!
